When Buddy’s sick, Everyone Suffers!

Sorry I’ve been a big fat slacker on my blog recently.  Life has a way of kicking you right in the ass from time to time; and right now is one of those times for me.

Buddy’s been under the weather for about 3 weeks now – which hasn’t exactly been helping out with his behavior issues at school – which also has me frustrated beyond belief – And to top it off; 3 nights ago, whatever bug he’s been flirting around with decided to rage into full destructo-mode.

So unfortunately for Buddy (and everyone else in the house), sleep has been hard to come by.  Combine all that with a few extra lbs and WTF zits on my face and I’m in one hot funk of an emotional mess right now.

Buddy getting sick comes as no surprise though as this is the usual time of year the shit storm begins.   To put it mildly… winters straight up suck balls in our house!

Cookin Baby! My (not so) Wordless Wednesday!

This pic of Buddy taken a few years back is one of my all time favs!

I actually hesitated to post this for two reason.  One, I don’t want anyone thinking I’m some sort of sickie who posts nudie toddler pics… And secondly, I don’t want some sickie using my pic of Buddy to…well, you know.  *I’m kind of a weirdo like that.  I’m always think I’m gonna be stalked! Not that I’m stalk worthy, but hey… you never know!  Maybe there’s some creepo out there who digs chicks with saggy boobs and hairy chins.  It’s possible!*

So anyway, in an effort to prevent the FBI from knocking down my door I’ll tell you the story behind this super adorable photo of Buddy!

On a side note – let me tell you how “thrilled” this pic made Daddy and PawPaw!  By the very next morning Buddy had a brand new Black & Decker Power Tool Junior Workshop waiting for him in his playroom assembled and ready to go!

So anyway, here’s how this went down…

My (not so) Wordless Wednesday! Damn You Autocorrect Edition

Every so often (when I’m not wiping butts, feeding mouths, cleaning my house (Ha! What?), farting around in the blogosphere and twitterville, grocery shopping, etc.etc.) I’ll swing by for a good laugh.  And if I happen to stumble across one that gets me rolling… obviously I have to save that awesomeness for some LOLz down the road.

So today, I thought I’d share some of that LMAO hilariousness with you for My (not so) Wordless Wednesday!

When I read this one I was sitting in the waiting room of a doctors office.
I had laughed so hard (forgetting where I was at) pretty much every
single person in the place shot a glare my way.
“Dude… Relax!  It’s not like we’re sitting in church!”

I Don’t Love Equally, I Love Differently!

Becky_TGIF-1-1-1-1-1As I was making my rounds today through Google Reader attempting to catch up on all my fav blogs I’ve been neglecting all week long, I came across a post from Alexis over at Troublesom Tots that really got my attention and got me to thinking. I know!… me thinking … scary, right?!

Anyway, In her witty and amusing way she tackles the idea of sibling favoritism in her post titled Mommy Loves You Best. Not You, The Other One. {That title made me giggle} It’s a great read – you should go check it out. After you’re done reading (and then commenting on) mine of course! 😉

She discusses the taboo topic of: Is it possible for a parent (or parents) to love one child more? Believe it or not, according to scientific studies many parents do in fact exhibit a preference for one child over the other. Crazy… right?!

Well, of course after reading this I instantly started thinking – Do I love one more than the other??

I Wanna Give A HUGE Shout-Out To…

For the second week in a row I’m linking up with Stasha at The Good Life for Monday Listicles. Ado from over at The Momolog chose the super fun topic this week – Family Tree.

And I actually have it together enough this week to link up on time!…on Monday! Never mind that it’s Monday evening…It’s freakin Monday! Yayy me!! {pat-pat on the back!}

It’s not that I don’t love my family {cuz I do… 99% of the time}; but this week I decided to put a little spin on the topic and list 10 Amazing Mommy Bloggers who have really been there to help me get my mommy-bloggin feet off the ground.

A Mother’s Touch

images (9)When I was a little girl, one of my favorite things was when my mother would play with my hair. Just her touch would feel better than anything I knew in my life. I never forgot that feeling. As I grew up and moved away from home, I always yearned for it.

Later in life, during my visits home, I would seek an opportunity to lay my head in her lap hoping that she would just stroke my hair for a few minutes. Her touch still felt comforting in an indescribable way and would take me back to those moments in my childhood.

My mother never knew how powerful those touches were or how they comforted me like a warm blanket throughout my life.

Have you ever had one of those dreams that were so real you woke up the next morning and it ruined your whole day? …Or maybe just part of the day?

Well, this morning I woke up one pissed off wife thanks to an all too vivid dream I had last night.  Logically, I know it was just a dream… hell, I didn’t even know the slut… but it was so real, that I actually woke up with a pit in my stomach.  I couldn’t even look at that cheatin’ bastard without wanting to roundhouse heel kick him right in the junk.

Coming Out Of The Closet…

… the bloggy closet that is!

In the short time I’ve been a resident of the blogosphere I started to find myself (generally speaking, but not always) becoming more drawn to the bloggers I could attach a face to.  For me, it just adds a level of personalization; therefore, easier to make a connection with.  It’s always nice to put a face with a name; or in bloggyland, a face with an alias, or a title, or whatever.

So with that being said, I’ve decided to slightly expose myself.  Whoa whoa whoa… simmer down home slice.  Let’s not get too excited here.  I just meant I’m going to allow you to see the face behind this sassy little Mommy2¢ blog.

I don’t think you all appreciate how big of a deal this is for me.  I’m about 97.8% sure I probably have a couple of stalkers out there somewhere in the world.  That’s the kinda stuff you can come to expect when you live an average everyday life in the mid-west.  Can you say – walking target?!

Unfashionably Late

My girl Jill, author of Mommy Inconsistent, was awesome enough to award me with this award…

back in November, and I’m just now getting around to passing it on.  I’m such a slacker!  Between the holidays and the lack of brain cells that help me remember things, I totally shit the bed on passing this award on in an appropriate amount of time.  Jill, I apologize.  Please don’t think it was because I didn’t appreciate it.  I love awards!

My Naughty Little Elf, Frank!

Okay, blogyville… this is an inane week for me.  Jamie from Chosen Chaos and I have a linky going on called Ghosts of Blogging Past and it’s a Parrrtaayyy!  People are really having fun it with it and we’re over the top excited about it!

I had no clue how much time and commitment was involved with hosting a link up; so a MAJOR SUPER SIZED shout-out to both Erica (for hosting the awesome weekly Lovelinks) and Stasha (for hosting the always fun Monday Listicles)!  Ladies – I have a whole new respect for what you do for us each and every week! You guys rock!

But to top off the madness of this week (link up, wrapping gifts, trying to remember to feed my kids and do laundry so we have cloths to wear); I busted our Elf, Frank, being a dirty little man!
